Job Description

Position Summary

The Area Sales Manager – LFR will be responsible for managing and growing the business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, focusing on Large Format Retail (LFR) partners. The role involves managing sales operations, improving visibility, driving revenue growth, and ensuring strong partner relationships. The candidate will handle sales planning, execution, team management, and category growth in large format retail formats such as Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, Central, Reliance, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Planning & Execution

  • Own and deliver the sales targets for the region across LFR partners.
  • Prepare and execute monthly and quarterly sales plans to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Ensure store-wise performance monitoring and take proactive measures to bridge gaps.

Retail Operations & Partner Management

  • Manage and expand LFR partnerships by collaborating with store managers, area managers, and key account managers of retail chains.
  • Regularly visit stores to ensure excellent visual merchandising, planogram compliance, and brand visibility.
  • Resolve operational challenges including stock issues, returns, product damages, and manpower concerns.

Team Management

  • Manage and guide a team of Retail Sales Associates / Promoters at various LFR counters.
  • Implement and monitor incentive schemes, performance metrics, and training modules.
  • Drive staff productivity and motivation through regular reviews and engagement.

Inventory & Merchandising

  • Ensure optimum stock levels at stores by coordinating with the supply chain and warehouse teams.
  • Monitor sell-in and sell-out and plan stock replenishment accordingly.
  • Track slow-moving SKUs and recommend markdowns or transfers to optimize inventory health.

Business Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct sales analysis, market benchmarking, and competitor tracking for performance optimization.
  • Share weekly and monthly reports on sales, footfall, conversion, and inventory turnover with actionable insights.
  • Drive decision-making through data-led insights for each store and city cluster.

Customer Experience & Brand Advocacy

  • Ensure store teams are trained in brand SOPs, customer service protocols, and product knowledge.
  • Drive in-store activities, brand campaigns, and consumer engagement programs to increase walk-ins and conversions.
  • Maintain high standards of customer experience and loyalty building.

Requirements

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing / Retail Management. MBA preferred.
  • 4–6 years of experience in Large Format Retail / Modern Trade sales, preferably in fashion, accessories, lifestyle, or consumer goods.
  • Strong understanding of LFR formats, operational processes, and performance metrics.
  • Experience in handling multiple stores across geographies with proven sales growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM/retail reporting tools.
  • Willing to travel extensively across AP and Telangana.
