Area L&D Manager (Multiple sites covered (6-10), 1 site home) – 40% travel due to site rotations & to enable strong site level partnership with local site trainers.

Job Summary: The Area L&D leader will partner with the Division & Enterprise Ops, L&D Team and with operations leadership to support implementation and accountability to the L&D Framework, Systems and Tools across multiple sites within their assigned area. The role is responsible for ensuring that each site drives common learning systems, processes and training standards through site identified technical trainers, or team members that support training delivery locally, to enable our sites to be able to have world class learning experiences. The Area L&D leader is the key partner for the area leadership to ensure all of the sites are able to effectively deploy our common processes, Orientation, Onboarding, Job Certification and Development processes that enable their strategies. This team member will work closely with their area, or regional leadership, as well as site leadership to enable team members to support the day-to-day management of manufacturing training. They will do this through a strong network of trainers and building their capability to ensure they can support delivery of the day-to-day learning processes needed within manufacturing. They will be the lead admin for the LMS System and support other admins/ trainers that help manage the system processes day to day.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Key partner working with the Regional L&D Leader & their assigned Area VP to prioritize core learning priorities across their space
  • Responsible to connect with and support local site leadership teams and trainers to implement and continuously improve site training processes (e.g., Orientation, Onboarding, Job Certification, Development Processes), including system/process accountability and reporting
  • Responsible to partner with local operations team/ trainers to build out and implement on the job training for critical roles
  • Responsible to support content/ learning solution creation with trainers/ SME’s, using the ADDIE model and consideration for emerging technology
  • Responsible to administer the Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS) – Able to build, track and assign training
  • Responsible to ensure training documentation is stored, linked, and utilized as a part of the training process in a systemic way
  • Responsible to implement local trainer onboarding/ development process to ensure highly effective trainers are utilized during the learning & development process[PT1]
  • Key partner to local trainers, ensuring that safety/ quality leaders have all required compliance trainings tracked and refreshed as needed
  • Key owners to ensure orientation and onboarding processes are effective & the employee experience is measured and on target
  • Able to manage and balance multiple competing priorities across an area, or market
  • Additional duties as assigned

Technical Skills

  • Learning & Development Experience (e.g., ADDIE Design, L&D Technology/ Design Tools, Facilitation, On-the-job training, Implementing and Measuring L&D Systems/ Frameworks/ Processes): 3-5 years
  • Prefer industry knowledge, or experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
  • ATD Instructional Design Learning Cert and/ or Other Learning/ HR cert (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required – Focus Areas Preferred…Human Resources, Teaching, Learning & Development, Adult Learning, Org Development, Instructional Design, Continuous Improvement
  • Microsoft Office – Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms
