Z Modular is looking for an Architectural Designer to work out of our Troy, MI office. This position would report to the Director of Architecture and Design. The ideal candidate will have an interest in modular construction, automated fabrication systems, parametric design software, and developing alternative approaches to the design and construction industry. This position requires the candidate to be very organized with great people skills; and to understand design-build processes with superior attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities

• Create state submittal packages containing modular building designs and highly detailed drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
• Development of modular details for construction drawings
• Adapting plans to modular requirements
• Aide in the creation of production drawings. 
• Code checks for accessibility, building envelope, fire separations, etc.
• Ensure that all work is carried out to specific standards, guidelines, and building codes
• Candidate should have an analytical mind with excellent problem-solving skills and mathematical ability
  
  

Education / Experience

• BS in Architecture (MS Preferred).
• Architectural experience (various skill levels: 2+, 5-8 years, 8+ years)
• Working knowledge of the International Building Code
• 2+ years’ Revit working experience
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Modular experience is a plus
• 3-5 years in construction coordination operations
