Summary

What you need to know about us

We are Athora Netherlands, an insurance company with the well-known brands Zwitserleven and Reaal. We are mainly involved in pensions and life insurance in the Dutch market. What will you do?

You will work within the Digital Strategy, Architecture & Innovation department, which consists of ~ 20 eager and experienced professionals. You will report to the Director of Digital Strategy, Architecture & Innovation, who reports directly to the Chief Technology & Operations Officer. As a team, we determine not so much where Athora NL is going, but how we will get there. Based on our business strategy, we define how to establish the right business capabilities, organization, processes, data, applications, and infrastructure to achieve our goals.

You will work at the intersection of business and IT on the future of Athora regarding infrastructure and workplaces. In collaboration with your colleagues and engineers, you will determine and implement the change roadmap to achieve this. You will think about concepts related to the workplace of the future and explore the latest possibilities in hybrid working. Additionally, you will consider the smartest choices within the changing IT landscape, where cloud technology plays an increasingly significant role, and the strategy and balance between SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. You will assess our progress using insights from Gartner and other external perspectives to ensure we are at the forefront. All of this takes place at Athora, where we have ambitious goals to become the digital pension insurer of the Netherlands.


Your main tasks:

  • Translating the Athora NL business strategy into a vision and strategy concerning cloud, sourcing, integration, the infrastructure and workplace design.
  • Developing a concrete target architecture for infrastructure and workplace design, and ultimately both drafting and guiding the implementation of the change roadmap.
  • Advocating and inspiring the organization on the chosen direction including our transition towards more full stack deployment, a modular IT landscape and increasing the availability and use of AI in the workplace.
  • Supporting the development of business plans and business cases, Epics and Features in line with the architecture and roadmap, and preparing advisory reports and conducting market explorations.


What do we expect from you?

  • A master's degree or equivalent level of thinking, preferably from a program focused on technology and IT processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of platforms such as infrastructure, workspaces, application integration, security, and connectivity.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud services and a modern digital workplace, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the future architecture.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in an architectural role.
  • Ambition to contribute to the digital strategy to become the digital pension insurer of the Netherlands.
  • Knowledge of modeling language ArchiMate and tool Architect (Bizzdesign) and TOGAF certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Agile framework SAFe
  • Proficient in English.
  • Residing in the Netherlands; the work location is in Amsterdam.

Salary per month: based on CLA scale 10 or 11, the range is € 4193,48 - € 7327,88 based on 36 hours.
