Summary

Location: Huddersfield (in office mon-fri) flexible hybrid work negotiable.

Acumen Architects is an award-winning RIBA Chartered Practice based in Huddersfield, specialising in high-quality, design-led architecture across the residential sector and strong focus on commercial projects. We pride ourselves on being a practice which is large enough to deliver, whilst being small enough to care. With a growing portfolio of innovative and sustainable projects, we are seeking a talented and motivated Architect with 5+ years practice experience to join our team.


What is the role?

A confident experienced architect with a long-term directorship ambition to join our Huddersfield Based Practice. This role will suit a proactive individual looking to work alone or in small team on a range of projects simultaneously, from concept through to completion.

What more does the role entail?

  • Developing early-stage client briefs into thoughtful, design-led proposals.
  • Engaging with clients, consultants, and local authorities throughout project development.
  • Producing high-quality technical and tender documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Coordinating with colleagues and sharing experience with our younger team members.
  • Producing detailed working drawings and specifications and reviewing/editing similar work drafted by others.

  • Attending / leading site visits and meetings with clients, contractors, consultants and undertaking contract administrator.


  • What Skills & Experience do I need to have?

    • ARB-registered Architect with at least 5 years post-Part 3 UK experience.
    • A strong portfolio of work, including residential or commercial sector projects.
    • Advanced proficiency in Revit is essential, AutoCAD, Photoshop and Microsoft, experience.
    • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Confident working independently and as part of a close-knit team.
    • A clean UK driver’s licence.
    • Supporting junior team members and contributing to the collective knowledge of the practice.
