We are looking for 2 apprentices across our welding and fabrication team in Engineered Solutions business stream which is based out of our new facility in Newbridge. You will be learning at College and on the job whilst working with our experienced professionals and earning money at the same time! We are looking for individuals with energy, enthusiasm and a passion to learn who enjoy getting stuck in to manual tasks as well as academic learning.
Overall, a fabrication apprentice role includes the following:
- Marking out components for metalwork
- Cutting plate and sections using shearing machines
- Cutting and shaping materials using portable thermal cutting equipment
- Cutting materials using saws and abrasive discs
- Operating CNC fabrication equipment
- Forming structural sections using machines
- Producing structural steel ancillary components
- Producing major structural components/sub-assemblies
- Joining fabricated components using mechanical fasteners
- Producing fillet welded joints using a manual welding process MIG
- Slinging, lifting and moving materials and components
- Erecting structural steelwork
What you can expect:
- A 4 year apprenticeship programme with the potential to be made permanent and further develop your career.
- An SVQ3 qualification in your chosen field as well as the potential for HNC or HND

What we expect of you:
Think you have what it takes to be a part of our apprentice programme? Just a few things we would need from you:
- You should be able to demonstrate an aptitude in your chosen discipline and to have a strong ambition to become a competent professional
- For our engineering roles, you should be strong both academically and technically - have the ability to study, confidently pass exams and also tackle practical tasks
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Provisional or full UK driving licence
