Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, but recognises the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions on new assignments.
Responsibilities
Technical Responsibility
Participates in engineering activities to define product requirements, create designs, perform simulation testing and validate final hardware components
Under direct supervision can apply relevant standards/specifications
Is able to identify basic risks associated with a design and manufacture of products
Has a basic theoretical knowledge of engineering principles in one area
Helps maintain 6S and HSE standard
Technical Processes, Tools & Documentation
Performs mechanical component development and integration using Computer Aided Design (CAD) concepts using basic applicable methods
Technical Leadership
Under close supervision, provides expertise in designing, developing, manufacturing and testing mechanical components
Problem Solving
Rudimentary skills to troubleshoot rigs and implement fixes
Ability to apply with coaching a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
Commercial Awareness
Understands the need to estimate, budget and control costs associated with project execution
Qualifications
Education Level (Required): 5 GCSE A* - C (4 and above) including Maths, English and STEM subject or equivalent (BTEC) and 2 A Level Grade C or above in STEM based subjects (Maths, Physics, Engineering Science) or equivalent
