Your Tasks:

Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Participate in regular housekeeping activities to ensure a tidy and efficient workspace.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste materials by transporting them to designated waste disposal sites.


Quality:

  • Ensure consistent and reliable processes by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines.
  • Report any quality issues or defects to the supervisor immediately.
  • Record (foresight, SAP, traveler) production activities (std. and actual hrs., production#, unit# etc.) accurately as per company’s requirements


Maintenance:

  • Perform routine and preventive upkeep (including cleaning) and inspections of dept. equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to the leadhand or supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure proper tools management (storage, maintenance, etc.). Maintain an accurate inventory of tools.


Specific Responsibilities

Working with a certified lead electrician, your key responsibility is to gain the knowledge and experience required for certification and to be able to do the following:

  • Ensure electrical maintenance requirements are being tended to in an electrically safe manner while under the supervision of your sponsor
  • Conduct troubleshooting protocols and repairs to machinery and building components
  • Evaluate machinery, circuit diagrams, faults and the like to address maintenance tasks and issues
  • Provide feedback to maintenance manager and production supervisors on task updates, critical breakdowns and timelines
  • Communicate effectively between the maintenance team and across departments
  • Monitor the status of machinery and electrical components serving the Trench operations
  • Report breakdown causes and repair steps using the MVP CMMS software
  • Ensure workorders generated via MVP CMMS software is being closed in a timely manner
  • Develop a strategic plan for completion of the certification program in coordination with the department requirements
  • Support mechanical maintenance team on commissioning and troubleshooting of machinery
  • Assess potential improvements and recommendations for future project applications
  • Use measuring equipment, hand tools, air tools and power tools.
  • Other dues as assigned by the Supervisor or designate.


Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma
  • Currently enrolled in or completed technician, technologist or relevant electrical engineering diploma/degree
  • Knowledge of electrical components and technical requirements (ESA/CSA/PSR…)
  • Production process knowledge and its relationship to machinery
  • Active listening and ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Teamwork is a must as you will be under full guidance of a master electrician
  • Effective communication between the internal team, contractors and other Trench departments
  • Attention to details for all work completed and details of requirements ahead of starting a task
  • Problem solving using tried and tested solutions
  • Root cause analysis by applying process of elimination
  • Flexibility and adaptability to variable issues
  • An outstanding safety and quality conscious approach while performing work duties.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Proficient in English with demonstrated fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Excellent communication skills to follow verbal and written instructions
