Job Description: Applied Mathematician Irvine, CA Duration: 36 - Month Contract We are looking for a Mathematician with strong experience modeling large data sets and drawing data-driven recommendations that can improve business operations. In this role, you will create detailed data analysis, operational recommendations and decision support tools through intense mathematical analysis, model design and development. Responsibilities: Perform extensive analysis and insight extraction of historical data Design and develop models to identify and visualize patterns and trends, and draw insightful conclusions Test and validate potential solutions utilizing mathematical tools and operations research techniques. These techniques and tools include, but not limited to, mathematical optimization, regression analysis, classification, predictive modeling, probability, statistics, decision trees, linear programming, numerical methods, dynamic programming, quantitative decision support, queuing theory, forecasting, data mining, and project management Prepare detailed reports, present findings and recommendations in a clear and understandable manner to the management and marketing team Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) with quantitative background (e.g Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics,Sciences, Operations Research or equivalent) Advanced quantitative skills and experience working with large datasets Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience with modeling and analysis Strong development and modeling experience with Python, R, SAS, SQL, or MATLAB Strong mathematics and statistical background Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to individual development Excellent verbal, technical,and written communication skills with strong focus on attention to details and accuracy Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
