Applications Engineer Location: Saline,MI | Full-Time About the Role As an Applications Engineer at MMI, you'll be the critical link between client needs and engineered solutions. This role blends technical expertise with creative problem-solving and project leadership-from concept through launch and continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and world-class clients to develop advanced solutions in materials, design, and manufacturing. Key Responsibilities * Develop and deliver engineering solutions focused on weight & cost reduction, performance, and functionality. * Lead concept development, part design, material and mold selection, process engineering, and quality planning. * Interface directly with clients to gather requirements and present viable technical solutions. * Manage project milestones including kick-off, DFMEA, prototype builds, and design reviews. * Prepare and control original engineering drawings and documentation. * Lead engineering change processes and implement product improvements. * Support project quotes, timing, and cost estimations, including tooling and product changes. * Participate in special engineering projects and support production quality goals. ️ Your Qualifications * BS in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or equivalent hands-on product design experience. * 3+ years' experience in plastic injection molding, tool design, or manufacturing of molded components. * Strong background in product design, program management, and engineering analysis (FEA, MFA, GD&T). * Deep understanding of design and mold standards, part quality, and manufacturing requirements. * Exceptional problem-solving, project leadership, and communication skills. * Preferred: Experience with OEM or transplant PLM processes.
