Job Title: Battery and BMS Application Testing and Validation Engineer

Job Description

We are looking an experienced Engineer for Application Testing and Validation specializing in Qualifying the Battery and Battery Management Systems (BMS) in Electric Vehicle (EV) battery design and development. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the robustness and reliability of our EV battery applications through comprehensive testing and validation processes

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Computers Engineering
  • Minium 2-4 of experience in Battery Management Systems (BMS) in Electric Vehicle (EV) or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in using all battery testing equipment’s and software for data acquisition tools and analysis

Key / Mandatory Skills To Have

  • Experience with EV Battery and battery management systems (BMS) and energy storage systems (ESS).
  • Strong knowledge of battery testing standards (e.g., UN38.3, ISO 26262) and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with battery testing and validation processes, including environmental and reliability testing
  • Experience with battery technologies, cell balancing techniques, and power electronics for EV applications.
  • Good hands-on experience with Debugging and Testing Tools, like JTAG Debuggers and Logic Analysers and Oscilloscopes
  • Very Good Knowledge of communication protocols used in BMS, such as CAN bus, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Fault Diagnosis and Testing: Skills in firmware development for fault detection, diagnosis, and mitigation within BMS
  • Good understandings with microcontrollers and embedded systems used in BMS, such as ARM Cortex-M series.
  • Good Knowledge in Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), CANoe / CANalyzer, Version Control Systems
  • Nice to have awareness in languages like C, C++, Phyton, Oops for embedded firmware development.

Job Roles And Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing of EV battery systems and Battery Management Systems (BMS) to validate performance against specifications and requirements.
  • Verify and analyze battery parameters such as capacity, voltage, current, temperature, and cycle life under various operating conditions.
  • Collect and analyze test data, prepare reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure integration and alignment of battery systems with vehicle requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure alignment of testing efforts with product development timelines.
  • Establish and maintain testing procedures, analyse the test results, documentation of testing results and quality standards to validate the performance, safety, and durability of EV battery applications, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize testing processes and enhance overall product quality.
  • Stay updated with advancements in EV battery technology and testing methodologies to incorporate best practices and innovations.
  • Effective communication skills
