We are seeking a capable and adaptable Applications Support Technician to join our client's team on-site in the Hague. This role involves supporting, maintaining, deploying, and configuring software applications within complex and distributed IT environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in both Windows and Linux systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a collaborative mindset to support end-users and ensure application availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Application Deployment & Configuration:

• Manage release, deployment, and configuration of software applications.
• Maintain and operate build and deployment pipelines.
• Design and maintain software configurations for deployment environments.
• Configure and integrate software applications across platforms.
• Coordinate change requests, deactivations, and deployments following approved procedures.
• Assist in testing and verifying deployments, including contingency planning.
• Ensure prerequisites are met before deployments using approved tools and techniques.
• Record activities, log results, and document all technical procedures.

Software Application Support & Maintenance:

• Monitor software applications for resource usage, availability, and failure rates.
• Support operational status reporting and respond to exceptions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues using standard diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Follow escalation protocols and assist end-users with incidents or service requests.
• Ensure up-to-date backup and recovery procedures are in place and functioning.

Essential Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in:
• Operating, testing, and maintaining software in networked and distributed environments
• Managing Windows and Linux environments (e.g. via vSphere, Active Directory)
• Working in isolated environments and deploying solutions, including container-based applications (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Using CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab) for code and container deployments
• Managing relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
• Administering web-based software applications and associated services
• Supporting 1st and 2nd line IT issues, contributing to knowledge base development
• Working with DNS, Active Directory-based access controls, and basic hardware/network administration
• Understanding system interoperability, security protocols, and IT service management
