Project Overview

This role supports the Client Journey program, a multi-year initiative aimed at streamlining the onboarding process for institutional clients at a Fortune 500 investment firm. The effort focuses on reengineering business workflows and aligning supporting applications to achieve a scalable, efficient, and modernized target state. The program is not focused on infrastructure and involves no hands-on coding.

Role Summary

As a Solution Architect within the Enterprise Architecture function, this individual will lead the definition and delivery of target-state application architectures supporting institutional client onboarding. This includes:

  • Defining architecture blueprints for approval by the Architecture Review Board (ARB)
  • Partnering with business and delivery teams to ensure technical alignment with business outcomes
  • Driving modernization of legacy, manual processes through application-level design and cloud-native patterns


Responsibilities

  • Develop and document future-state application architectures aligned with enterprise strategy
  • Lead architectural design sessions and work with development teams to ensure feasibility and adoption
  • Guide architecture for workflow automation and client lifecycle management
  • Contribute to digital transformation efforts by evaluating cloud-native patterns and services
  • Ensure all designs meet governance and ARB standards
  • Align architecture deliverables to the business vision, focusing on institutional sales enablement and onboarding workflows


Required Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a focus on applications (not infrastructure)
  • Strong background in solution architecture, application design, or enterprise architecture
  • Experience architecting solutions for client onboarding or workflow-heavy applications
  • Experience with cloud-native application design (Azure or AWS – Google Cloud not desired)
  • Understanding of business process orchestration platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Appian – SME-level expertise not required)
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and governance processes
  • Experience in the asset management industry or similar regulated financial services environments (banking experience not necessary)
