Team Overview

EquiLend’s Security Engineering team protects our cloud-first infrastructure by embedding security into every stage of the development lifecycle.

As Specialist Application Security Engineer (Cloud Security & Monitoring) in Bengaluru, you’ll lead efforts to strengthen our cloud security posture, automate compliance, and integrate security alerts into our MDR platform. You’ll play a key role in our shift-left security strategy — working closely with DevOps, AppSec, and Compliance teams to embed controls across CI/CD and cloud environments.

This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape how we secure AWS and Azure at scale.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct security posture assessments across AWS and Azure to identify and remediate misconfigurations and compliance gaps.
  • Define and implement baseline cloud security standards that support ongoing compliance reporting and audits.
  • Automate compliance checks using tools such as CrowdStrike Cloud Security, Prisma Cloud, AWS Security Hub, and Azure Defender.
  • Deploy and configure CrowdStrike Cloud Security to identify cloud threats, misconfigurations, and policy violations.
  • Leverage CrowdStrike Identity Protection to detect and mitigate identity-based attacks on cloud infrastructure.
  • Integrate cloud security findings into the MDR platform (Rapid7 InsightIDR) for centralized alert tracking and response.
  • Design and implement custom detection logic and automated response actions for AWS and Azure environments.
  • Collaborate with the Incident Response and SOC teams to triage and respond to cloud-related security events.
  • Drive shift-left security practices by embedding IaC scanning tools into CI/CD workflows.
  • Work with DevOps to enforce secure-by-default configurations in Terraform, Kubernetes, and serverless stacks.
  • Enhance cloud visibility by integrating security insights into broader attack surface management processes.
  • Build and refine automation workflows using CrowdStrike Falcon Fusion, SOAR platforms, and scripting tools.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving cloud threats and continuously enhance security processes and standards.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years commercial experience including strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure, and their security configurations.
  • Proven ability to implement and manage cloud-native security tools such as CrowdStrike Cloud Security and Prisma Cloud.
  • Deep understanding of cloud compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and DORA.
  • Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools and SIEM/MDR integrations (e.g. Rapid7 InsightIDR).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, and security scanning tools within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid scripting ability (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate security processes and remediations.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a proactive approach to engaging cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and deliver actionable solutions.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, particularly when translating technical risks for non-technical audiences.

Role Location Benefits

  • Hybrid Working: Enjoy the flexibility of working remotely for up to 50 days each year.
  • Variable Pay: Annual performance related variable pay award to reward your performance and contributions to the company’s success.
  • Generous Vacation Days Per Year: Take advantage of paid vacation days annually, plus public bank holidays.
