Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on the FICC Emerging Markets eTrading deliveries
- Work on extending and supporting the eTrading system for the Emerging markets rates desk
- Will be part of strategic framework development - a multi-year project to re-platform the tech stack and develop next generation of an eTrading platform for the Emerging Markets business
- Initial focus will be sovereign bonds and interest rate swaps (both d2d and d2c)
- Project will evolve to cover other asset classes as part of a cross-line-of-business strategic initiative
- Will be involved in all stages of the software development life cycle and will have daily interaction with traders, quants and senior stakeholders
Requirements:
- Excellent Core Java
- Extensive experience of distributed, multi-threaded system development in Java (Java 1.8 preferred)
- Previous experience at a tier one bank
- Ability to steer technical direction
- Previous python development experience
- Experience of industry standard Continuous Integration and automated testing tools
- An appetite to work on a high profile project in a fast paced delivery focused environment with exposure to senior business sponsors
- Sound knowledge of software engineering design patterns and practices
- Proactively own and resolve details of high level tasks
- Enjoy team working environment
- Demonstrate an understanding of operational aspects of managing a software stack

- Self-starter and willing to work with new technologies
Desired skills:
- Strong Rates/Fixed Income product knowledge
- Previous eTrading application development experience
- Knowledge of electronic venues such as Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26
