THE JOB
As an Application Engineer (Biomechanics), you’ll be at the intersection of customer engagement, technical product testing, and motion capture system deployment. This is a hands-on, collaborative role that blends engineering expertise with customer-facing problem-solving. You will work closely with product designers to test and improve software and hardware solutions, travel to install systems at client sites, and provide technical support across a wide range of industries. From trade show demos to remote troubleshooting, you will help ensure each client’s success while contributing to product excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver first-line technical support to customers via phone, email, video, and remote access tools
- Plan and execute installations and training for motion capture systems at customer locations (domestic and international travel)
- Assist the sales team with impactful system demonstrations and represent the company at industry events
- Collaborate with design and development teams to test software and hardware; log bugs and gather customer feedback
- Produce support materials including documentation, tutorials, and example workflows using in-house software
- Prioritize and manage multiple customer and product support tasks simultaneously
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree required, preferably in Biomechanics, Engineering, or a related field
- 30% domestic travel required; international travel possible
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident presenting to diverse audiences
- Proven technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience supporting complex technical products, ideally in motion capture, force platforms, EMG devices, or optics
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or Visual3D
- Familiarity with tools such as Nexus, Tracker, Shogun, Unity, Unreal, TrackD, VRed, or ROS is a plus
- Self-motivated and adaptable; thrives in both team environments and independent work settings
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and task prioritization
