Job Description
We are currently searching for an experienced Application Engineer who will be responsible for activities involving installation, engineering, repair, and upgrading of equipment and systems. The position will be based at our Schaumburg, IL, location.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals.
- Turnkeys: develop a manufacturing process by generating machine cutting program(s), implementing tooling, and fixturing based on a customer’s proposal while maintaining a mandated schedule, cycle time and quality level.
- Provide technical customer support to our distributors and key account customers in programming, processes, and training.
- Design and implement cutting demos with a focus on new technologies and products.
- Develop and present contents of scheduled programming classes to both internal and external customers.
- Support the full sales life cycle by performing customer visits, product demonstrations, time studies, etc.
- Communicate with internal sales force and customers regarding project process updates.
- Support training and/or coaching of internal and external customers in relation to advanced manufacturing concepts and full product line.
- Execute other technical tasks related to special events and/or sales support on an as needed basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, such as Open Houses and Trade shows.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years degree or equivalent experience in a skilled trade related to machine tool technology
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Tool & Die, low volume job shop, high volume production, etc.)
- Prior experience with similar product line to SMX, DVF Doosan / DN Machines, preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with G&M codes programming Multi-Task Turning Center and 5 Axis Machining, process engineering (Tool selection, operations sequence, documentation etc.), setup, and operation of 5 Axis CNC VMC, HMC, and/or multi-Task turning machines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within Fanuc and or CUFOS controls
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience within Siemens controls
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with Mastercam, Siemens NX, VERICUT CAM side
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD CAD side
- 3+ years of experience with the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of project management tools (Gant Charts, Action Plans, etc.) and lean concepts.
- Work Location: on-site, Schaumburg, IL.
- Schedule: 8-hour shift (Monday ~ Friday)
