Title: Applications Engineer II

Location: Davis (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute applications engineering tasks aligned with organizational goals.
• Design and build custom fixtures and work holding solutions for test cuts, demos, and turnkey projects.
• Develop and optimize complex machining processes.
• Generate accurate time estimates with up to 10% tolerance.
• Create CNC programs using G-code, macros, conversational programming, and CAM systems.
• Set up CNC machines, including tooling and 5-axis/mill-turn configurations.
• Inspect machined parts for precision and quality assurance.
• Draft technical reports and comprehensive documentation.
• Configure and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
• Partner with account and sales managers to generate technically informed proposals.
• Deliver hands-on training to customers post-installation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in machining and applications engineering.
• Proficiency in CNC programming, machine setup, and blueprint interpretation.
• Familiarity with metallurgical principles and machining different materials.
• Experience with horizontal machining centers is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
