Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Application Engineer to join our EV Traction Motor and MCU team. In this role, you will work closely with customers, R&D, and sales teams to support the integration, calibration, and optimization of electric motor and motor control unit (MCU) systems for electric vehicles. You will play a key role in ensuring our products meet customer performance, quality, and timing requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams for EV motor and MCU applications.
  • Support the integration of motors and MCUs into customer vehicle platforms, including system-level calibration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including product demos, requirement analysis, and customer training.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams on application-specific design adaptations and software configurations.
  • Analyze motor and MCU performance data using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and CANalyzer.
  • Conduct system validation tests (HIL, bench, and vehicle-level testing) and ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, test reports, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Monitor project timelines and contribute to project planning and milestone reviews.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive application engineering, ideally with EV powertrain systems.
  • Solid understanding of electric motors (BLDC, PMSM) and MCU technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems, control algorithms, and vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
  • Proficient in tools like MATLAB/Simulink, CANalyzer/CANoe, and dSPACE or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, and functional safety concepts.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with inverter control and power electronics.
  • Knowledge of thermal and NVH considerations in motor applications.
  • Understanding of customer product development cycles, particularly in OEM or Tier-1 environments.
