To learn more, please visit: https://www.NFP.com. The Application Development Intern reports to the Application Lead of NFP Application Engineering. They are responsible for building and supporting web and mobile applications for our business partners in the financial services industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Participates in the delivery of technology solutions under the coaching/guidance of senior team members or takes an assistant role in the delivery of basic solutions/systems. * Specific examples associated task/responsibilities with envisioning and planning phase of the solution development process include, but are not limited to: * Participate in requirements gathering and specifications * Assist in design of Proof of concept and/or prototypes * Communicate Status and collaborate with distributed delivery teams * Deliverables/Tasks/responsibilities associated with the design and development phase of a business solution development process include, but are not limited to, the following: * Develop implementation specification * Develop unit test specification * Participate in testcase review * Specific examples associated with the release phase of a business solution development process include, but not limited to: * Develop software code to specification * Unit test * Integration test * Build * Operations guide. * Training/Help Documents. * Documentation of known issues associated with the current release. * Deployment and post deployment support * Troubleshoot and support basic applications in the production environment when escalated from front-line support team. * Identify and document process improvement opportunities such as coding practice, templates for repeated tasks, architectural improvement, etc… * Maintain an understanding of existing and emerging technologies Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: * Basic skills and knowledge in including, but not limited to, the following: * Object-oriented programming - C#, C++, or Java * .NET Framework * HTML, CSS * JavaScript * SQL * Ability to read, interpret and/or develop basic technical specifications, diagrams and database schema * Software Development Life Cycle methodology * Ability to plan & prioritize work * Strong problem solving & troubleshooting skills * Good communication skills What We Offer: Our PeopleFirst culture focuses on building and nurturing lifelong relationships with our employees because, at the end of the day, we exist to be there for others. The base salary range for this position is $18/hr- $22/hr. The rate offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location.
