We are seeking a skilled Applications Engineer with expertise in industrial and collaborative robotics to join our dynamic team and contribute to transformative projects in the distribution sector. As an Application Engineer, you will work with end users, engineering firms, contractors, as well as the company’s own inside customer service team, outside sales representatives and engineering team. The Application Engineer is responsible for selecting components, performing calculations to support system designs and preparing detailed schematics, system layouts, bills of material and quotes. Applicants must have the mechanical understanding to envision and design, understand and adhere to engineered specifications, select solutions and accessories, price the systems, and prepare professional proposals. Responsibilities Design and develop robotic solutions for various distribution tasks, including material handling, sorting, packing, and palletizing. Create estimates, proposals and/or quotations for recommended solutions. Analyze client requirements and operational workflows to propose tailored solutions that address specific needs and challenges. Advise on the installation and integration of industrial and collaborative robots into existing distribution systems. Ensure seamless integration with other automation systems, including conveyors, sensors, and warehouse management systems (WMS) Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to robot performance, safety, and functionality. Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams on systems and their operation. Propose and implement improvements to existing robotic systems and processes to drive efficiency and innovation. Collaborate with sales teams and customers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Including joining sales team on sales calls and customer visits for product demonstrations. Monitor project progress, manage resources, and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Background & Experience Associates or bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Or equivalent work Experience. Proven experience in applications engineering with a focus on industrial and collaborative robotics, preferably in the distribution industry. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, and project managers. Proficiency in robot programming and configuration, with hands-on experience in working with major robotic brands (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA). Proficiency in MS Office applications. Basic CAD. Strong understanding of robotic systems, sensors, automation, and control technologies. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Customer driven with a positive, professional, customer first attitude. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy. Aptitude to learn about technical products and provide technical support to customers. Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
