CTG is seeking to fill an Application Architect - Java & Web Technologies opening for our client in Plano, TX. Location: Plano, TX (Onsite Opportunity) Duration: 12 Months Duties: Design and implement scalable, high-performance, and secure Java-based microservices and web applications. Architect and develop solutions leveraging event-based architecture for real-time and near real-time data ingestion. Integrate and manage APIs to support complex business processes, particularly in the supply chain domain. Lead and mentor a team of developers while remaining actively hands-on in coding, debugging, and performance tuning. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions. Utilize Kafka for distributed messaging and real-time stream processing. Ensure architectural best practices are followed in coding, design, and implementation phases. Skills: Strong expertise in Java Microservices and Spring Boot frameworks. Solid experience with Event-Driven Architecture and real-time data processing. Proficient in Apache Kafka - including producer/consumer design, schema registry, and Kafka Streams. Deep knowledge of RESTful API design and integration. Understanding of supply chain systems and related business processes is highly preferred. Hands-on problem-solving approach with a strong attention to performance and scalability. Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise application development. 3+ years in an architect-level role leading the design of large-scale Java-based systems. Proven hands-on experience with Kafka, Spring Boot, and cloud-native application design. Prior experience working in a supply chain or logistics domain is a strong advantage. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
