Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Application Architect to lead the modernization, performance tuning, and security of our enterprise financial application. This role is critical in driving re-engineering of legacy systems, solving performance and latency issues, and delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions.

The ideal candidate will provide hands-on guidance across a multi-language tech stack (Java, Node.js, Angular, Ruby), and bring deep knowledge in cloud architecture (AWS), DevOps, AI/ML, and secure development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the refactoring and modernization of legacy financial systems into high-performing, scalable, and maintainable architectures using modern technologies.
• Own system-wide performance analysis and optimization — from backend APIs to frontend load times.
• Provide expert architectural guidance across development teams working in Java, Angular, Node.js, and Ruby.
• Architect robust, low-latency solutions leveraging caching (Redis, Memcached) and messaging/queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS).
• Define scalable architectures on AWS cloud using services like EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and more.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure reliable, high-performing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
• Build and enforce observability standards — implement APM, monitoring, distributed tracing, and alerting strategies.
• Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and industry regulations (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.).
• Identify opportunities for AI/ML integration to enhance automation, analytics, and intelligent decision-making.
• Mentor developers, conduct code/architecture reviews, and define reusable design patterns.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture roles.
• Proven success in re-engineering/refactoring legacy systems into scalable, modern cloud-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Angular, Node.js, and Ruby architectures.
• Hands-on experience resolving performance and latency bottlenecks across large-scale systems.
• Deep understanding of caching, asynchronous processing, messaging patterns, and modern integration practices.
• Extensive experience with AWS services, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native patterns.
• Solid grounding in DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, and microservices.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and integration strategies.
• Familiarity with information security principles, secure coding, and threat modeling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to lead cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certified Architect or equivalent certifications.
• Experience in AI/ML productization using platforms like SageMaker, TensorFlow, or third-party APIs.
• Experience with Kubernetes, service mesh, GraphQL, and WebSockets.
• Experience modernizing monoliths to microservices or serverless.
• Prior work in financial services, banking, or fintech domains.
