Summary

Etpa is a designated European Power Exchange for the short-term electricity market. Our state-of-the-art trading platform is a key enabler of the energy transition. We provide access to spot trading for a wide variety of market participants, including battery companies, energy management systems, asset owners, and utility companies. We outperform our competitors in terms of speed, cash management, scalability, cost, and IT connectivity. Our current portfolio of markets includes Intraday (XBID), Congestion Management (GOPACS), and Ex-Post trading. We are rapidly expanding our geographical footprint and product offerings, with the introduction of XBID in Germany, Austria, and Belgium this year.

Responsibilities

As an API Implementation Intern, you will play a key role in improving how our customers interact with our APIs. Many of our clients build direct integrations with our trading platform, and we want to make that experience as smooth and developer friendly as possible.

In this internship, you will contribute to enhancing our API documentation, exploring modern tools for API publishing, and building test SDKs to help customers quickly get started with our platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and improving our existing API documentation for clarity, consistency, and completeness.
  • Exploring and evaluating tools such as Swagger, Postman, or Stoplight to improve API onboarding.
  • Building a client-facing SDK (e.g., in Python or JavaScript) to simplify API integrations.
  • Gathering feedback from internal teams and clients on API usability and documentation gaps.
  • Collaborating with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to align technical content with customer needs.

Qualifications

  • You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • You are passionate about APIs, developer tooling, and improving user experience for technical users.
  • You enjoy writing clean, structured technical documentation.
  • You have some familiarity with REST APIs and tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI or Postman (a plus).

What you can expect

  • A full-time paid internship position.
  • Proper support and mentorship to help kick-start your professional career.
  • A unique opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to the energy transition in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Meaningful responsibilities in an international, fast-paced company.

  • A close-knit, young team with many company events and opportunities to connect while helping shape the future of Etpa.
