Job Summary

ASM Global the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent opening for a Accounts Payable Staff Accountant at Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The position will support the Finance Department. The position is responsible for payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. This position meets deadlines and supports accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation. catering and suite services, concessions, backstage catering, In-Seat services, and special events F&B services.

Essential Duties

  • Process invoices for payment, which include entering information from invoices to the accounting system, manual calculation taxes related to professional service withholding, ensuring proper documentation backup, general ledger coding, routing invoices to the appropriate department for approvals, process check runs (weekly, bi-monthly, or as needed) and following up to ensure payments are processed timely.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding past due invoices and discrepancies.
  • Meet monthly A/P close and intercompany activities deadlines. This process includes accounts payable reconciliation.
  • Perform other accounting functions that may include but not limited to posting journal entries (accruals expenses and others) and allocation of invoices.
  • Post and file Purchase Order as established on financial policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the Annual Property Inventory.
  • Other Duties – may include but not limited to assisting with accounting projects, support year-end audit functions, elaborating and filing the Annual Informative Return (Form 480) and other general office support tasks. These responsibilities and tasks will be coordinated with and supervised by the Director of Finance and/or Accounting Manager. Additional routine tasks may be added as part of the accounting cycle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment to keep track of multiple assignments.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system/financial application.
  • Must have proficient accounting knowledge (i.e. debits, credits, chart of accounts and GL coding)
  • Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to accurately work under pressure to meeting deadlines.
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software 365 is desirable
