We are seeking a skilled and innovative Android OS Developer to join our team in building a custom Android Open Source Project (AOSP) OS designed for an affordable Android laptop. This role focuses on adapting the Android experience to a desktop-like environment by enhancing the launcher and core functionalities to suit laptop use. You will work on UI/UX elements such as taskbars, a Windows-style app drawer, and multi-window frameworks, ensuring a seamless, productive, and user-friendly experience.

Responsibilities

• Customise and optimize the Android Launcher and System UI to function in a desktop-like environment.
• Develop and refine features like taskbar, multi-window support, app drawer, and window minimization/maximization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall system performance and stability.
• Ensure smooth integration of custom launchers as the default environment.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and scalability.
  
  

Requirements

• Strong experience in Android OS development, especially with AOSP.
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin; experience with C++ is a plus.
• Familiarity with System UI and Android frameworks related to multi-window and task management.
• Experience customizing Android Launchers and working with Android custom ROM development.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization skills.
