Summary

Responsibilities The Privacy team focuses on implementing privacy and creating architectures in line with reasonable practices that treat user data with respect and transparency. Our team also responsible for users, an alternative TikTok environment appropriate for users under thirteen. We are looking for passionate Software Engineers that have strong problem-solving skills and coding skills to develop our privacy products. On the TikTok Privacy team, you will have significant ownership and impact over major user-facing features that affect the core TikTok experience. As an Android Engineer on the TikTok Privacy team, you will: Build privacy products to serve our user's data privacy needs; Increase protection of users and families on engaging digital platforms; Evolve TikTok for users, an alternative TikTok environment appropriate for users under thirteen; Design, implement and maintain the features that protect user privacy of our mobile application; Collaborate with the design and product teams to create a world-class mobile experience; Analyze and optimize Android applications for efficiency, performance and privacy control; Promote robust and maintainable code, clear documentation, and deliver high-quality work on a tight schedule. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin; Ability to understand and debug large and complex code bases; Good team communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors; 2 years of experience in native Android development; Passion or interest in protecting individual privacy is a huge plus! Job Information The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $137750 - $237500 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
