What we’re looking for: As an Android Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing high-quality mobile applications for clients. Your main responsibilities will include providing daily standups to clients, participating in and providing insights in various meetings with managers, clients, Product Owners, and Project Managers, reviewing and fixing issues in the latest build, designing prototypes for client projects, making changes in the user interface based on client requirements or Statement of Work (SOW), and reviewing project codebases. Your expertise in Android development and attention to detail will contribute to the successful delivery of client projects. Responsibilities: Provide clients with daily standups: Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress, discuss challenges, and address any questions or concerns. Collaborate with the project team to ensure client expectations are met and deliverables are on track. Attend and provide insights in 1 on 1 meetings: Participate in 1 on 1 meetings with managers, clients, Product Owners, and Project Managers to gather requirements, provide updates, and offer insights from a technical perspective. Collaborate with stakeholders to align project goals, prioritize tasks, and address any technical issues or considerations. Review and fix issues in the latest build: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of the Android application to identify and resolve any functional or performance issues. Work closely with the development team to implement fixes and ensure a stable and reliable application. Design prototypes for client projects: Collaborate with designers, clients, and stakeholders to create user interface prototypes for Android applications. Incorporate client feedback and iterate on the designs to ensure an optimal user experience. Perform changes in the user interface according to clients/SOW needs: Modify the user interface of Android applications based on client requirements or the defined Statement of Work (SOW). Ensure consistency, usability, and adherence to best practices in UI/UX design. Review project codebases: Conduct code reviews to assess the quality, readability, and maintainability of the Android application codebase. Provide constructive feedback and suggest improvements to optimize code performance and maintainability. Optional: UpSkill in front end related frameworks Qualifications: Fluent English level Previous working experience as a Android Developer for 5 years. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch” Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications A knack for benchmarking and optimization Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git Familiarity with continuous integration What you'll love about us...
