Role Overview

We're looking for an Android Developer (SDE1/SDE2) with a strong sense of ownership and real-world experience building and shipping Android applications. This role is ideal for someone who doesn’t require handholding, understands business needs, and thrives in fast-paced, collaborative teams.

As a core member of the mobile app team, you will work on delivering end-to-end Android features—right from planning, implementation, testing to release and post-release fixes.

Responsibilities

1. Own and deliver Android app features end-to-end with minimal supervision.
2. Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to scope and build clean, scalable solutions.
3. Write maintainable, testable, and performant code in Kotlin.
4. Participate in sprint discussions and raise blockers or suggestions early.
5. Review PRs for both Android and iOS, debug production issues, and help maintain code quality.
6. Adhere to Git workflow, naming conventions, and Android best practices.
7. Monitor and improve app performance, memory footprint, and crash reports (Firebase, Play Console).
8. Take initiative in suggesting and building small improvements that enhance UX or engineering efficiency.

Requirements

1. 1–3 years of hands-on Android development experience using Kotlin.
2. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, activity/fragment lifecycles, view models, and modern architectural patterns (MVVM/Clean Architecture).
3. Proficient in working with REST APIs, Retrofit, and JSON data handling.
4. Experience with Jetpack libraries, Room DB, and third-party SDKs.
5. Good understanding of version control (Git), CI/CD basics, and build systems like Gradle.
6. Able to take ownership of tasks, understand requirements, and deliver independently.
7. Experience working in a team setup using tools like JIRA, Figma, Confluence, Slack, etc.
8. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
9. Experience with Navigation Component, Firebase tools.
10. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
11. Exposure to analytics integration and A/B experiments.
