Summary

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Location: Golden Valley MN

Pay Rate: $23.00/HR on W2

Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension)

Shift hours: Wednesday - Saturday from 7:00am to 5:00pm

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Facilitate analytical testing or sample preparation for Medallion in conjunction with other team members
  • Provide support and flexibility related to the analysis of samples or preparation for Medallion Labs
  • Document results and review data generated by LIMS or instrumentation to maximize output and meet deadlines
  • Meet department Quality expectations including:
  • o Complying with Medallion and ISO 17025 quality requirements
  • o Identifying and addressing quality control issues
  • o Completing quality investigations in a thorough and timely manner
  • o Perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and other maintenance required by the Reliability Program
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the portion of the analytical methods being trained on
  • Maintain a work environment that complies with GMI and Medallion safety rules
  • Actively participate in customer and accreditation audits as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory and team operations
  • Other responsibilities as required by specific lab


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma w/3-5 years of directly relatable experience
  • Able to coordinate multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; PC skills: proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Works well with individuals and teams; displays a positive attitude
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability; Flexibility and adaptability
  • Available to flex work schedule when business need dictates
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation.
  • High individual energy with very strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage in Productive Discourse


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or related science field preferred

  • Ability to work independently or demonstrate ability to acquire such skills
