We are seeking an experienced Software License Management Analyst to join our IT Vendor Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, tracking, and compliance of software licenses across US & EU region. This role requires a strong understanding of software licensing models and purchasing processes to ensure cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and optimal utilization of software assets. This person will serve as our Subject Matter Expert to provide recommendations regarding licensing options and should have a general understanding of software and SaaS license/ subscriptions models.
Once hired the Software Asset Management analyst will work with the Vendor Management team to prioritize areas of opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Software License Management: Track, monitor, and maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and organizational policies.
SaaS Administration: End-end administration of SaaS application like Miro, Wrike, Adobe etc.
Procurement Support: Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate software purchases, renewals, and contracts with vendors, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
License Compliance: Conduct regular audits of software usage to identify over- or under-utilization, ensuring adherence to licensing terms and avoiding penalties.
Vendor Coordination: Liaise with software vendors to resolve licensing disputes, obtain quotes, and manage relationships.
Cost Optimization: Analyze software license usage data to recommend cost-saving opportunities, such as license reallocation or subscription adjustments.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of software licenses, purchase agreements, and renewal schedules in asset management tools or databases.
Reporting: Generate and present reports on license status, compliance, and expenditure to stakeholders and leadership.
Software Renewal Calendar: Create & maintain Software renewal calendar & automate workflows
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT, finance, and legal teams to streamline software acquisition and management processes.
Qualifications/ Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in software license management, IT procurement, or a related analyst role.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of software licensing models (e.g., per-user, per-device, concurrent, cloud-based).
- Experience with software asset management (SAM) tools (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow, Snow Software).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Familiarity with IT procurement processes and contract terms.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
