Position Overview:
StepStone is seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join our Strategic Asset Allocation team. The successful candidate will support the development and enhancement of models used for capital market assumptions and multi-asset portfolio optimization. We are looking for someone with a strong academic or professional background in quantitative finance, statistics, or data science. This role involves contributing to a variety of quantitative initiatives across private markets, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and deepen your understanding of the rapidly growing private market industry.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and enhancing models for capital market assumptions, strategic asset allocation, and other quantitative research initiatives
- Develop statistical models from scratch and effectively communicate results internally, including key assumptions, methodologies, and limitations.
- Conducting in-depth research and statistical analysis to generate insights and support data-driven decision-making in private markets.
- Providing analytical and ad-hoc support to investment professionals across various projects and initiatives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in quantitative finance, econometrics, data science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python and SQL; will also consider candidates with experience in R.
- Deep understanding of statistical and data analysis techniques, such as regression models and portfolio optimization.
- Experience in a financial environment. Knowledge of private markets is a plus.
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence, and adaptability
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
