General Overview:


Supporting the members of the Investment team, the Investment Analyst will participate in every aspect of asset, equity, and debt transactions within the metals and mining, clean energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors from the initial phases to finalization. This role requires a strong understanding of the deals and evaluations cycle, exceptional analytical skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have the willingness and ability to work in the office five days a week and beyond regular hours as required by the business.


Role-Specific Accountabilities:


  • Contribute to all stages of asset, equity and debt transaction execution, from the origination phase through to closing in the metals and mining, clean energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
  • Perform due diligence of potential investments, identify key investment merits and risks, review documentation and work in conjunction with subject matter experts.
  • Build and review financial models, including understanding underlying assumptions and projections, layering in detailed analysis, and drawing conclusions to inform underwriting.
  • Prepare and present materials used in investment committee meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity, and valuation comparisons.
  • Research market and corporate information for relevant industry trends and developments such as the energy transition, new technologies and ESG.
  • Build and maintain industry databases ensuring correct and up-to-date information.
  • Assist in the preparation and construction of presentations for capital raising activities, investor updates and strategic third parties as needed.
  • Working alongside management teams of portfolio companies to assist with Kinterra’s value creation initiatives.


Qualifications & Requirements:


  • A bachelor's or master's degree in business, math, engineering or science
  • 1-2 years of experience in private investments, investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, equity research or in a mining company considered a strong asset
  • Knowledge and interest in the energy transition, metals and mining, metal processing, processing infrastructure, renewables, battery technology and power grids is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work effectively both independently and collaboratively, and excel under pressure.
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus
  • Superior level of proficiency with business software, analytical tools and financial data portals such as Capital IQ
  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and oral communications skills
