Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge? We are looking for an Analyst, Financial Modeling.

The role

Reporting to the Director of Financial Modeling, the Analyst will play a key role in supporting and driving the business case, and the commercial deal structuring and negotiation activities for Alto (the Project). The role involves collaborating closely with the Private Development Partner (PDP) and internal teams across various Alto functions to manage the development of financial models, evaluate assumptions and outputs to support the development of delivery strategies, cost development and risk management. The individual will work closely with an integrated team across different Alto functions (including technical, operations, legal, etc.).

The Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex project finance and infrastructure financial models.
  • Analyze project economics including Capex, Opex, revenue models (e.g., availability payments, farebox revenue), and financing costs.
  • Run sensitivities and scenario analyses to support analysis and management decisions.
  • Review financial models submitted by external parties and conduct variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, and external advisors and stakeholders on risk allocation, funding strategies, and contracting and commercial terms.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for various stakeholders and Management teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors in development of value-for-money or business case analysis.
  • Develop analysis in support of the development and negotiation of key contractual terms such as funding and financing provisions, payment mechanisms, KPIs and performance monitoring, risk sharing provisions, compensation on termination, etc.
  • Analyze market conditions, such as interest rate fluctuations, supply constraints, inflation and escalation to manage the contractual risks and apply analysis into commercial structuring activities.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure advisory, or investment banking.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills (3-statement models, debt sizing and sculpting, compliance to debt covenants).
  • Understanding of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), availability-based models, revenue risk structure and collaborative models (i.e. progressive models, Alliance, IPD).
  • Familiarity with reviewing project finance documentation (Term Sheets, Project Agreements, Credit Agreements).
  • CFA/CPA is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data, perform quantitative analysis, and generate actionable insights related to commercial structuring.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts and commercial strategies in a clear and compelling manner to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Proactive attitude, with a demonstrated ability to drive change, foster collaboration, and deliver results in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Independent thinker and self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Bilingualism (French-English) is desirable.
