SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Amazon Marketplace Manager is responsible for driving growth and optimizing the operations of the company’s presence on Amazon. This position will be responsible for managing product listings, optimizing product visibility, exploring new product opportunities, and analyzing data to drive growth. Additionally, this role will oversee and improve logistical operations such as order fulfillment, demand planning, and integration of the Amazon channel within the company’s day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions

  • Manage all areas of marketplace activities including Amazon marketing, logistical operations, promotions, demand planning, product listings, and customer service.
  • Contribute to defining and setting the strategic direction, vision, and business plan of the Amazon business channel.
  • Stay updated on best practices for Amazon and other marketplaces.
  • Establish and deliver sales goals while providing regular forecast updates to monitor progress against sales targets.
  • Launch, maintain, and optimize product listings to ensure high ranking on Amazon.
  • Develop and execute pricing and promotional strategies that drive top-line growth while adhering to pricing policies.
  • Understand category top sellers, competition, and growth opportunities to leverage into strategies for product advantage.
  • Implement marketing campaigns within each category with clear growth goals and ROI analysis.
  • Track operational metrics including inventory levels, sell-thru rates, product reviews, chargebacks, etc.
  • Maintain account health through monitoring metrics like violations, product compliance, shipping metrics, customer reviews, etc.
  • Resolve platform-related problems proactively by addressing root issues.
  • Oversee order fulfillment operations in collaboration with warehouse and IT teams to ensure efficient order flow.
  • React to logistical challenges encountered while working with e-commerce platforms.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for upper management and cross-functional teams.
  • Optimize listings through SEO techniques such as keyword research and competitor analysis.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, R&D, Sales, and IT Teams to achieve channel growth goals.

Position Specifics

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Typical work hours are Monday – Friday,8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • This position is based out of the Fountain Valley office with a hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office and 1 day remote.
  • No travel is expected for this position.

Pay Transparency

The Company is committed to fair and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. The salary range for this role in Fountain Valley is $80,000 – $90,000. Additional compensation may include bonuses and a wide range of benefits including health & wellness benefits, retirement plans, time off, employee discounts, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise cross-functional employees working under different departments related to the Amazon channel.
  • Manage client/agency relationships requiring constant feedback and support for the Amazon business.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, Economics or similar field or 4 years of marketing/sales experience with knowledge of eCommerce marketing opportunities in lieu of a degree.
  • Seller Central experience is preferred; Vendor Central experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in growing visibility and sales in online marketplaces with existing brands/products.
  • A deep understanding of maintaining ownership of the Buy Box in a multi-seller environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; copywriting experience is a plus.
  • A strong business acumen with the ability to capitalize on opportunities in a fast-paced online environment.
  • Exceptional data analysis skills with actionable insights capability.
  • Able to work cross-functionally with eCommerce, Marketing, IT, Operations and Customer Service teams.
  • Strong project management skills; self-starter accustomed to leading projects independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite applications.
