We are looking for a Fire and Security Alarm Service Technician to join our team! Job Description: Responsible for providing excellent customer service and driving customer loyalty, quality, and overall satisfaction by servicing, programming, configuring, dismantling, reconstructing, converting, and trouble-shooting existing security and site automation solutions including, but not limited to, fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control. Position Responsibilities: Service, repair, and install all systems based on customers’ orders. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms. Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications. Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation. Complete and submit all service call related documents. Keep an orderly vehicle and accurate inventory stock levels. Various projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma (or equivalent). Technical school training and/or certification is preferred. Minimum 1 year of technician experience within the alarm and fire industry is preferred. Minimum 1 year of field service experience is preferred. Networking experience is a plus. Must have flexibility to travel, work overtime, and On-Call shifts as needed. Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Suite (intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook). IT and networking experience is preferred. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong communication and customer service skills. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Telecommunications - Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems. Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem. An acceptable driving and criminal history record. Physical Requirements: Alarm technicians must be able to lift, carry, and use heavy equipment, such as ladders. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to sit, stand, and/or drive for long periods of time.
