Job Overview:
Trace Analytics, an Ingersoll Rand company, is where compressed air testing meets purpose. We support critical industries and ensure the safety of firefighters to SCUBA divers, pharma to medical devices, and various manufactured goods around the world from our state-of-the-art lab.
Our expert team delivers trusted results that protect people and products every day and we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our commercial laboratory. In this high-impact role, you'll bring your strong background in laboratory science and proven leadership to the forefront. As our Laboratory Manager, you'll ensure the lab upholds the highest quality standards while driving compliance with industry regulations and best practices; all within a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day laboratory operations, including staff scheduling, equipment maintenance, and workflow management
* Implement and maintain laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control measures
* Supervise and mentor laboratory personnel, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and development
* Manage the laboratory budget, including procurement of supplies and equipment, and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results to clients, maintaining strict confidentiality where required
* Maintain quality assurance programs to ensure the reliability and accuracy of laboratory data, working closely with the quality department on new policy implementation and corrective actions
* Work with customer service to provide technical support and consultation to customers as needed
* Collaborate with senior chemist to integrate new testing methods and technologies into laboratory operations
* Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations, addressing any issues promptly and professionally
* Prepare and deliver reports on laboratory performance, including productivity metrics and quality indicators, to senior management
* Stay abreast of advancements in laboratory science and management practices, ensuring the laboratory's competitive edge in the market
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline such as Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field is required; master's degree preferred
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
* Strong understanding of laboratory regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, ISO 17025)
* Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team of professionals
* Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Proficient in the use of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software

* Budget and Resource Management : Competency in managing the laboratory's budget, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation
Travel and Work Arrangements
* This role is based Onsite in Dripping Springs, TX
Physical Requirements include :
* Ability to operate in a laboratory setting while safely handling chemicals, biological hazards, and controlled substances
* Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required
* Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
