JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
The Air Export Supervisor is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of shipments and to provide pro-active customer service to internal and external customers. All Company policies and compliance of government regulations is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Accurate and timely processing of all shipments
- Pro-active communication to internal and external customers
- Adherence of Company guidelines as related to billing
- Effective communication with respective managers and respective gateway operations to ensure the best possible routing of cargo
- Timely communication with customers upon receipt of inquiry
- Accurate and timely processing of shipments, AWB’s, invoices, and government required documents
- Update and maintain TSA regulations for Branch
- Obtain and maintain customer records including Consent to Screen form, shippers instruction and other forms and documents to be kept in the file
- Ensure screening of cargo as per government and Company policy
- Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities
- Maintain Carrier Contract Rates in cooperation with Air Product Management team
- Accurately maintain Customer rates
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct performance evaluation for direct reports
- Recommend hiring, firing and promotion
- Identify and resolve personnel issues
- Ongoing coaching and mentoring of staff to develop skills to the highest level
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in Air Export functions
- Ability to read and understand carrier tariffs
- Knowledge of rating and routing of cargo
- Understanding of applicable IATA Regulations
- Strong knowledge of world geography
- Good basic math skills and understanding
ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to 10%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds
