As an AI Robotics Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimising AI models for robotic perception, enabling our autonomous systems to operate with unparalleled intelligence and efficiency. You will be at the forefront of cutting-edge AI research and application, contributing to the development of intelligent behaviours in robots that will revolutionise how we interact with automation. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our vision to create world-class robotics solutions for security and operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and train cutting-edge AI models for robotic perception, including computer vision, SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), and reinforcement learning for autonomous navigation and task execution.
  • Optimise deep learning algorithms for edge computing and real-time robotic applications, ensuring low-latency performance and minimal energy consumption in autonomous systems.
  • Develop and implement federated learning strategies for distributed, decentralized AI training across a fleet of robots, enabling efficient, data-driven decision-making without compromising privacy or bandwidth.
  • Collaborate closely with robotics engineers to seamlessly integrate AI models into robotic platforms, ensuring that machine learning algorithms drive intelligent, autonomous behaviours in real-world environments.
  • Develop and refine deep learning-based algorithms for robotic perception, enhancing capabilities in object detection, obstacle avoidance, and dynamic scene understanding.
  • Focus on improving model robustness by leveraging synthetic data generation and data augmentation techniques to enhance AI model performance in diverse and dynamic environments.
  • Design and implement real-time AI inference strategies, ensuring seamless performance across edge devices such as NVIDIA Jetson and embedded systems.


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in developing AI/ML models for robotic applications, with hands-on knowledge in TensorFlow, PyTorch, and deep learning for computer vision, SLAM, and reinforcement learning.
  • Proven experience in optimizing AI models for edge deployments, ensuring real-time AI inferencing, low-latency, and energy-efficient performance on NVIDIA Jetson and other edge AI platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in federated learning, enabling collaborative AI training on distributed robotic systems without requiring centralised data collection.
  • Expertise in designing and deploying advanced computer vision algorithms for tasks such as robotic navigation, object recognition, and 3D mapping using ROS2.
  • Strong understanding of data augmentation techniques and the ability to generate synthetic data for training robust AI models, especially in edge or resource-constrained environments.
  • Proven ability to solve complex AI challenges, focusing on real-time performance, scalability, and reliability for high-impact robotics applications.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with robotics engineers and cross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge AI technologies that enable autonomous robotics.
