Summary/Objective

The Project Manager position is responsible for overseeing various aeronautics projects in the US. The Project Manager is responsible for the daily management of a Project’s lifecycle. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating with the internal /external project teams and with the stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet the requirements of the customer as defined within the Project work specification and the contractual agreement.

  • Daily project management through a complete project’s lifecycle.
  • Participate in the development of cost estimates, RFIs and RFQs with the REEL global team as well as with the customers.
  • Support the REEL USA organization in Sales /Commercial activities.
  • Interface with customer to understand and define all project requirements.
  • Work with suppliers in identifying their capabilities as it pertains to a project.
  • Develop sub-tier supplier RFQ’s such that their quotes are in line with the customer’s RFQ.
  • Roll up sub-tier supplier quotes and REEL internal quotes into the final REEL USA quote.
  • Develop implementation plans and schedules with all REEL global engineering teams.
  • Work as the main point of contact between the customer and the REEL project team.
  • Ensure that all milestones within a project are being met per schedule and per customer requirements.
  • Understanding and monitoring various projects simultaneously, project budgets, schedules and resources.
  • Ensure that all work being performed is within the scope of work for the project. Work with customers to develop plans for the completion of any out-of-scope work. Work with REEL USA management to ensure that out-of-scope work is negotiated and purchased by the customer via purchase order.
  • Ensure that the transmittal of data between customer and REEL USA is per contract and per security requirements.
  • Assist in the development of presentation material.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Manages operational aspects of various projects simultaneously,
  • Leads by example, directs and coordinates the daily activities,
  • Participates in Weekly & Monthly business development, sales and project review meetings,
  • Liaises with Executive Team members, Engineering Team members, Sales Department, and the different Subject Matter Experts within different Divisions of REEL International,
  • Follows all REEL USA Quality & EHS management protocols.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Profil:

Required Education And Experience

  • Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering, or similar, that supports project engineering and manufacturing. Strong aircraft /automotive production environment skills and knowledge are a must to shorten the learning curve.
  • 5-10 years of Engineering /Project Management experience in aeronautics /automotive or similar industry, including experience in manufacturing.
  • Certification in Project Management is preferred.
  • Experience in engineering software is preferred.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Analytical, problem-solver, optimistic, loyal, independent and hands-on.
  • Fluent in English (both written and oral). French speaking would be a strong asset.

Location

This position will be based in Mobile, AL, USA

Position Type /Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the typical business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This being a salaried position, the employee shall expect to work longer hours as required, in order to achieve the established goals and objectives.

Travel

  • Regular travels are expected for this position and could include:
  • Visiting clients before, during and after an active Project,
  • Installation and commissioning of products and solutions at the client’s facility,
  • Ensuring REEL products meet Project requirements per contract,
  • Visiting REEL sites as required around the world (i.e. USA, Canada, Europe).
