Summary

The Advisor, Information Technology (Business Analyst) works with internal users to design, develop, integrate, and maintain applications that support business initiatives to achieve operating efficiency and information integrity. The position will be working hybrid and is based in San Juan, PR.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, integrate, test, implement, and maintain applications to meet the organization’s business initiatives.
  • Analyze business information and processes to identify efficiency opportunities, workflow issues, and design and implement solutions that address efficient and accurate use of resources.
  • Performs a consultative and/or leadership role in the development of processing solutions, providing product information, solutions design and documentation to ensure effective use of business information.
  • Work with and/or lead project teams of system users and vendors to understand and ensure the accuracy of the data and optimal application operation.
  • Execute work by determining priorities, analyzing alternatives and selecting applicable methods and procedures for completion.
  • Coordinate and track efforts with vendors during system outages, malfunctions, updates and upgrades, assisting as required.
  • Acquire intimate knowledge of business applications implemented in the institution to support their use and enable full exploitation of their capabilities.
  • Keep abreast of developments, releases, roadmaps and issues of business applications, and share the information with interested parties.
  • Adhere to Oriental Information Technology standards and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in business analysis, application development or software development required.
  • Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
  • Experience in project management and implementation preferred.
  • Experience in Data analysis using database tools required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with internal clients, vendors and IT staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish & English required.
  • Ability to convey and communicate business requirements and technical needs in clear, concise, and effective manner.
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn.
  • Analytical, proactive problem solving, organized, detail oriented and able to multitask observing the defined quality standards required.
  • Understanding of financial industry processes and policies.
  • PMI Certification or Business Analyst Certification is preferred.


WORK AUTHORIZATION & ELEGIBILITY:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US is required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
  • Employee is responsible for maintaining eligible work authorization throughout his tenure with the organization.
