Job Overview:
If you're ready to take your engineering career to the next level, we're seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer who seeks to play a key role in driving strategic execution across a global manufacturing network. This is more than a job, it's an opportunity to make a measurable impact on manufacturing performance, efficiency, and innovation across multiple sites and product lines. As a member of our ITS group, you'll help lead the development and execution of manufacturing strategies that support our most critical initiatives-including i2V (value engineering), NPD (New Product Development), and Footprint projects. You'll work closely with the AME leader, program managers, factory leadership, and cross-functional teams to leverage existing manufacturing capacity and implement new capabilities where needed.
Responsibilities
* Support the program manager in establishing program budget, tracking spend, and creating schedules. Be able to fill in for program manager in leading review / update meetings and cross-functional business planning.
* Develop / Review requests for quote and business cases for requested projects by developing and documenting requirements, compiling information on in-scope products / processes, performing financial reviews, and defining the project success criteria.
* Manage overall scheduling and activity tracking for specific projects programs, including the development of master detailed project management schedule and determination of resource requirements assuring program dates can be obtained.
* Update the project management plan, track progress, identify potential problems early, and resolve problems with the team in a timely manner.
* Schedule and facilitate meetings as necessary.? Document the activities and issues that surface in the meetings and distribute this to internal and external team members.
* Track progress on project gate checklist items, compile the supporting documentation, and present relevant topics during gate reviews.
* Interface with product engineering, factory operations, equipment vendors and installation contractors, and offshore support teams to complete project tasks and smoothly integrate new product production with existing operations.
* Work with sourcing and purchasing to ensure that correct parts and quantities are available for all phases of engineering builds, pre-production builds, and start of production.
* Resolve internal issues by assuming ownership of problems, strategizing with affected departments, and selecting and implementing solutions.
* Provide regular updates to factory leadership and work collaboratively with factory functional teams.
* Ensure smooth and timely handoff to production at product launch / equipment release to production including planned method documentation, tooling, lifting devices, safety and ergonomic signoff, and setup and stocking of consumables and spares in the crib.
* Analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs based upon understanding and communication with shop floor users, operations staff, safety, and product engineering.
* Procure tooling, machines, and equipment necessary to support approved site capacity and capability roadmap and deliver capable and well documented manufacturing processes.
* Manage expense and capital requirements as it relates to NPD, capacity increases, equipment replacement and day to day continuous process improvement requirements.
* Ensure operator and maintenance training for new production equipment meets standards and final sign-off requirements.
* Manage facility layouts for area updates with CAD software.
* Serve in a highly cross-functional environment with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, product management, and suppliers to optimize cost competitiveness and manufacturability.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant skills gained through additional experience.
* 5+ years' experience in manufacturing engineering or combination of manufacturing engineering and direct leadership.
* Experience in precision machining, standard precision measuring techniques, plant layout, assembly methods, line balancing, time studies, routing creation, and standard costing.
* Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and process partners.
* Thorough experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Ability to learn and manage new computer systems.
* Experience with reading and interpreting engineering prints and BOMs.
Core Competencies:
* Experience in Project management and NPD methodology.
* Strong analytical skills & experience in the introduction of new components from concept to production.
* Hands on Creo/NX, Tolerance Stack-up, and GD&T.
* Previous experience in low volume / high mix precision industrial product manufacturing.
* The ability to work/lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions.
* A sense of urgency balanced with a strong commitment to quality.
* Experience with designing requirements and managing implementation of capital assets
* Experience with quality certification requirements for ISO 9001 and PPAP processes (Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams)
* Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders at all levels

* This is position is fully site-based
* Potential travel is estimated at no more than 10-25%
