Acton Medical Associates, PC is looking for a Medical Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to our providers, specifically with assisting the coordinator of care for our Medicare patients.
This is a great opportunity for applicants with prior clinical experience (i.e. CNA or MA) looking for a less hands-on role working with patients.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Acts as an intermediary between provider and patient by processing forms, transferring medical records, copying, faxing and sending correspondence and generating normal lab letters as directed by the providers for continuity of care.
- Drafts outgoing correspondence and routes incoming correspondence appropriately; emails medical correspondence to patient via the patient portal.
- Greets patients, on the phone and in person, and ascertains their needs. Assists patients with requests for medical information.
- Completes appropriate documentation and forms for our Medicare program.
- Develops an extensive knowledge of Electronic Medical Records , Microsoft Word, Healow patient portal and other software programs used by the company.
- Maintains Protected Health Information (PHI) confidentiality following HIPAA privacy and security rules.
- Provides excellent service to both patients and providers.
Candidates should have:
- High school diploma.
- Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting
- Some medical terminology preferred
- Office administrative experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and perform under pressure
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail
- Experience with taking vital signs a plus
- Work full-time on-site
Candidates with previous experience may qualify for a higher starting rate.
