Job: Event Administrative Assistant.
Pay rate $28/ hour
Duty Time: Part time June -July, Full time, Term August 1-December 8, 2025
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant for Events will serve half-time May 28 – July 31, 2025 and full- time August 1-December 8, 2025 . The administrative assistant will provide logistical support to the SEAS Office of Diversity and Inclusion to plan and implement events which would involve: reserving event spaces, managing communications, order catering, set up and breakdown of events, assess outcomes, and serving as a main point of contact for participants and staff.
Specific Duties
• Collaborate with D&I staff to create events to implement
• Organize and manage the logistics of SEAS D&I Events:
o Reserving event spaces,
o Managing communications (including setting up systems to track attendance and disseminating marketing materials to advertise the events),
o Order catering,
o Set up and breakdown of events,
o Main point of contact for participants and staff.
o Assess outcomes of programs
• If necessary, organize and manage travel and lodging logistics if bringing in out-of-town speaker(s)
Essential Qualifications
A self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills, experience in event planning, and project management is ideal. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, responsiveness, adaptability, and the ability to work as a team player. The role requires organization, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to function under pressure. Other qualities that would be helpful include: ability to prioritize and execute multiple important projects at once as well as maturity and good judgment.
