POSITION DUTIES
The Field Enforcement Bureau is looking for an Administrative Aide for its Motor Fuel Testing Lab in Jessup, MD. This position is responsible for assisting management with specific administrative tasks such as data entry, recordkeeping, and report preparation. The appointee also serves as a liaison between the lab and various internal/external stakeholders to facilitate laboratory operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes
- Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
- For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalence evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.html.
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate or advanced level of proficiency with the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Experience managing office operations and creating reports.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Special Requirements
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard on a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
