The Department of Architecture and Urban Sustainability at The University of the District of Columbia, College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) seeks candidates for Adjunct faculty positions in the Architecture and Community Planning programs.


This position requires the adjunct to teach design studios in the undergraduate (B.S. major in Architecture) program, as well as lecture and seminar courses in their area of expertise at the undergraduate or National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited graduate levels (M, Arch degree). Expertise in teaching courses such as basic design and communication, materials and methods of construction, architecture and planning graphics, urban and community design, the built environment, professional ethics and practice, computer technology and simulation, and/or preservation technology is needed.


Minimum Job Requirement

· Terminal degree in Architecture

· Architectural practice experience

· Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Familiarity with and adherence to NAAB accreditation standards.


Preferred

· Registered architect in one of the 54 U.S. jurisdictions

· Licensure in the District of Columbia

· Previous teaching experience

· Previous studio teaching experience
