Under general supervision, teach courses in Computer Science, to community college students. May be assigned to any SLCC location.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Effectively prepare and teach classes to facilitate student learning.
2. Assess and maintain records of student performance.
3. Develop, distribute, and adhere to current course outlines and/or syllabi.
4. Attend required training and department meetings, as invited.
5. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to Division, School, and College missionand values.
6. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration.
7. Demonstrate depth of understanding in business statistics.
8. Support College policies.
9. Other job-related duties as required.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Responsibilities & Duties Cont:
1. Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization.
2. Maintains professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
3. Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments.
4. Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards.
5. Maintains student attendance records (for Financial Aid purposes) and grades.
6. Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance.
7. Informs students of progress-to-date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines.
8. Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment.
9. Prepares and submits incident reports to Dean of Student Services for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy.
10. Maintains professional and collegial behavior.
11. Handles/responds to student concerns/complaints and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1‐2 days).
12. Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure.
13. Completes all required employee trainings.
14. Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines.
15. Provides ADA accommodations as requested.
16. Other job-related duties as required.
* All Faculty will maintain an on-site campus presence to encourage in-person relationships and create engaging, meaningful, and impactful learning experiences.
* All SLCC employees must maintain permanent residence/address within the State of Utah to maintain employment. A permanent Utah address must be recorded to Human Resources within 30-days of your employment start date.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
1. Master's degree in Computer Science or related area from an accredited college or university, OR a Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or a related area plus at least three (3) years of professional experience in the field, AND
3. Verification of completion of degree requirements by time of employment with official transcripts, AND
4. Demonstrated knowledge of Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Requirements:
1. Three (3) years non-teaching full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience using computer science skills.
2. College level teaching or corporate training experience.
3. Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction.
4. Innovative approach to teaching, incorporating student-centered methodologies.

* Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
* Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
