Summary
Job Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality instruction in utility lineman techniques, safety protocols, equipment usage, and industry best practices.
Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional handouts.
Conduct hands-on training in pole climbing, equipment operation, and rigging techniques.
Teach electrical systems, overhead and underground distribution, and troubleshooting procedures.
Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and industry regulations during instruction.
Assess student learning through assignments, practical exams, and evaluations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to students to support their academic and career goals.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in utility lineman practices.
Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities as required.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent experience in the utility industry.
Minimum of 5 years of field experience as a utility lineman.
Strong understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills.
Ability to conduct hands-on training in outdoor and lab environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching or training experience in a technical education setting.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience with both overhead and underground systems.
Familiarity with instructional technology and learning management systems (LMS).
