Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Finance Analyst to support financial operations in our San Francisco, California office. This role requires strong expertise in managing accounts receivable and payable processes, as well as proficiency with accounting software and ERP solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records and efficient billing practices.

Responsibilities
Accounting Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable, including checks, wire transfers, stock gifts, and Classy donations
- Process tenant payments and rental income as needed
- Record and code all cash receipts and journal entries according to policy
- Reconcile and monitor accounts, pledges, and reporting systems for GAAP compliance
- Communicate with the team on major donor contributions
- Coordinate with the Controller to track pledges and net assets (restricted/unrestricted)
- Assist with payroll processing and general ledger integration
- Support Accounts Payable coordination and perform month-end account analysis
- Help resolve reconciling items and assist the Controller as needed
Grant and Contract Management
- Allocate expenses to appropriate grants/contracts based on cost methodology
- Prepare and submit monthly contract invoices with required documentation
- Monitor spending and flag under/overspending risks to the Controller
- Support grant tracking and generate related financial reports
Other Duties
- Provide audit support during the organization’s annual financial review
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit accounting, including financial planning and analysis
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements using accounting software
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems; experience with Intacct and/or Carbon is a plus
- Strong project management and process improvement skills, with a track record of streamlining processes and managing complex projects
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
