Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing vendor payments, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the overall accounts payable functions. Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions, including coding, approvals, and accurate data entry into the accounting system.
- Prepare and issue disbursement checks and wire transfers in a timely manner.
- Review invoices for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with company policies and payment terms.
- Maintain organized records by scanning and preserving invoices and other financial documents.
- Handle vendor relations, including managing W-9 forms, addressing payment inquiries, and overseeing vendor credit applications.
- Prepare and file 1099 tax forms in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the annual financial statement audit by compiling necessary documentation, accruals, and reports.
- Provide support for financial data requests and keep management informed of any relevant issues.
- Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounting team
Requirements
- A minimum of an associate degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience gained through attention to detail.
- At least three to five years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or comparable accounting software.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
